Talon Held a 6.2k Gold Lead in Game 3
CTBC Flying Oyster is in the midst of a remarkable season. After clinching victory at the LCP Kickoff, CFO booked their place in the Mid-Season Grand Final on Sunday with an impressive 3–2 reverse sweep over Talon. The series could have ended far earlier, as the Flying Oysters trailed by 6.2k gold just 20 minutes into Game 3 — Talon’s first match point. However, a late-game composition centered around Tsai "hongQ" Ming-hong’s Aurelion Sol and Chiu "Doggo" Tzu-chuan’s Smolder eventually came online. A decisive teamfight win at the 23-minute mark cracked open the toplane inhibitor and turned the tide.
Still facing elimination at 1–2 in the series, hongQ took a bold risk by drafting Camille in the midlane for Game 4 — a move that caught both Doggo and Yu "JunJia" Chun-chia off guard. The game was largely dictated by the jungler’s performance on Lillia (7/1/17), marking him as arguably the standout player across the series, closely alongside his ADC — Doggo ended the series with 44 kills.
The match also brought an end to Shen "Driver" Tsung-hua’s 18-game winning streak in the LCP. The toplaner, who alternates with Hsu "Rest" Shih-chieh on the top side for CFO, had not lost a single domestic game since February 8, in a match against Team Secret Whales.
A Standout Showing at the First Stand
With a guaranteed top-two finish in their regional split, the Flying Oysters have now officially qualified for both the Mid-Season Invitational (June 27–July 12) and the League of Legends tournament at the Esports World Cup (July 16–20). The second slot will go to Talon, GAM Esports or Team Secret Whales.

While the region's representatives are not seen as front-runners in global competitions, CFO proved a pleasant surprise earlier this year at the First Stand. During the event’s opening phase, they secured victories over representatives from the LEC (Karmine Corp), LTA (Team Liquid), and LPL (Top Esports). CFO is set to return to the international stage for at least two more tournaments — and they will do so with the clear goal of confirming their legitimacy.
