Arena returns at least for a full year
People have been asking, tweeting, and flooding everywhere to be as loud as possible. This is now a reality: Arena is coming back on Patch 25.13 on June 25, as officially announced by Riot Games on June 16th. This time, the mode will stick around for at least the next twelve months. This means players will be able to queue into Arena whenever they want for the rest of 2025.
The mode will receive balance updates every patch, every two weeks, as well as a reset and new augments once the third season of the year kicks off. Riot Games also announced that a bigger update for the mode is planned for around a year from now, sometime in the first half of 2026.
A comeback as it never left
For now, Arena is coming back as it was when lastly removed on May 14th at the end of patch 25.09. Which means the same augments, same 2v2v2v2 format, as in the style of the Grand Reckoning Season 1. Riot should keep balance updates rolling every other patch, like an ARAM-style maintenance, while the players progress (Fame, God Challenges) will be right where they left it. From an aesthetic standpoint, we've now entered the "Spirit Blossom" season, so it's unclear whether the map will still feature the Noxian theme from Season 1.
Later this year, when Season 3 drops, players can expect a reset. And with it, new augments, new rewards, and a reason to dive back in. Riot says a bigger update is also planned for the first half of 2026. Depending on how Arena performs from here, that could be the moment it levels up into something more permanent, without them confirming this information yet.
