Mammoth Esports was forced to play a 4 vs 5 game and therefore suffered the fastest defeat in the history of the LCO: 13 min and 22 seconds.
A weird record was set on Tuesday, in the final week of the regular season of the League of Legends' oceanic competitive circuit, the LCO. In the second round of the match between FURY Global (FRY) and Mammoth Esports (MEC), the latter suffered the fastest defeat in the league's history: in 13 minutes and 22 seconds. But the circumstances were propitious for such a rout as one of the five Mammoths, like the species, completely disappeared.
Although the reasons are not yet known, the Oceanic team's AD Carry, Vincent 'gunkrab' Lin, did not play in this second round. After the start of the game, a break was called immediately and at the end of the thirty minutes representing a break in the competitive circuit, the match was automatically forced to continue. FURY Global, however, didn't do things by halves and broke into their opponents base in record time.
No impact on standings
The match ended in a 1-1 draw, as every regular-season clash in the Oceanic League is played in BO2 (best-of-two). However, the result has no impact on the overall standings, with Mammoth already eliminated and FURY already qualified for the play-offs. The second-bottom team could simply have saved their honour by winning their second match of this summer.
