KT Challengers make a back-to-back victory over LCK's Challenger League
From head to toe, the second team of KT Rolster dominated the LCK CL playoffs, beating 3 different teams without ever seeming to find an even match to their strength. They came on top of T1 Challengers, KDF Challengers and lastly, their closest opponent during the season, DK Challengers.
A KT.C show led by their jungler Hamback
Despite Yoo "Zinie" Baek-jin and Byeon "Hype" Jeong-hyeon's prowess in teamfights, the standout player of the finals - and of the roster in general - was jungler Ham "HamBak" Yoo-jin. Able to utilize the fearless draft to his advantage by bringing in a variety of picks barely matched in the whole league, he was at the center of KT's victory over DK.C and previously against KDF.C
The highly-anticipated matchup for the finals was however between Zinie and Kang "Saint" Sung-in, two midlaners that have shown throughout the season they had the level to take part in the next season of LCK. With the exception of the Yasuo game, Saint couldn't follow up with Zinie's plays and was relegated to the shadow of his opponent. Meanwhile, toplaner Shin "Casting" Min-je once again managed to totally contain the threat the enemy toplaner Jeon "Siwoo" Si-woo posed, something he already had done against KDF's promising toplaner Han "Lancer" Jeong-heum.
Not the end of the season for LCK CL's top team
These playoffs aren't the end of the year for T1.C, KDF.C, DK.C and KT.C, as the four teams have earned their qualification to the Asia Star Challengers Invitational (ASCI), a Riot-sponsored event that will see Asian academies face off in the next weeks. This will be the occasion to see T1's promising botlane Carl Martin Erik "Rekkles" Larsson and Sin "Smash" Geum-jae play another round of matches. KDF's botlane, composed of Son "Quantum" Jeong-hwan and Song "Bull" Seon-gyu, is also among the players to watch.
