"I need to improve. I don’t deserve to be up there right now"
GIANTX has been eliminated from the League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) 2025 Spring Playoffs, falling 1–3 to Fnatic in the lower bracket. After starting at the bottom of the standings, the team surprised many by knocking Team Vitality out of playoff contention and securing a top-six finish. In an exclusive interview, GX support Yoon "Jun" Se-jun reflected on the team’s elimination, shared insight into his Rumble pick, and discussed the future of GIANTX.
How are you feeling, especially since it felt like your team wasn't really playing like its usual self? Is it frustrating to end on such a note?
Yoon "Jun" Se-jun: "Yeah, as a team, we just didn’t play together. We just kept dying randomly, and we didn’t set up for objectives when we had tempo. The mood got better after game 3. We were hopeful about winning at that point.
In Game 3, your Rumble pick was pivotal. Was this prepared specifically for today? What was the strategy behind picking it—was it for a certain matchup?
Jun: The main thing is using Rumble as a flex pick. If you pick it, you bait the opponent into picking a Galio or Ornn, and then we send it elsewhere and get a counterpick top instead. That was the reasoning. I think it looked good.
In Game 4, we saw some desperate moves — like Adam "Jackies" Jeřábek flashing and using his Syndra Ultimate on a full-health Rakan, or the fight after Fnatic got soul where it looked like you could win, but then everyone backed off. Do you think your team had problems coordinating?
Jun: I don’t know, honestly. We had a lead in the last game, but then we lost one fight, and we kept losing after that.
For you and Oh "Noah" Hyeon-taek, there’s some history with Fnatic. Did facing them today feel special, or was it just another match?
Jun: I didn’t care specifically about facing them. We’ve played against a lot of good teams in Europe, right? MKOI, KC, G2, FNC — it’s the same thing. The matchup was not out of our reach, I’m not happy about my performance. We just got gapped by Upset and Mikyx.
There was a lot of talk about confidence before the match and how GX looked good in scrims. Do you feel like today’s performance was very different from scrims?
Jun: Yes, in scrims, we were not playing like we did against Fnatic, and I don’t really know why. Maybe we just choked, I guess? There was definitely some stress going into today’s match.
Do you feel this split was emotionally harder than the last one, especially considering the roster change which occurred at the start of the split?
Jun: Yeah, when Closer was in our team, he was making clear calls, and pulling everyone up. It helped us play and be more comfortable, so it was definitely different. I still think our synergy is better than in Winter, both as a group and in our in-game macro.
How has it been for you and Noah as imports, being far from home?
Jun: In my case, it’s been fine, but I haven’t gone home in six months. For Noah, I don’t know how to describe it, but it definitely has been harder than for me.
What needs to happen for GX to get a better result in Summer?
Jun: We need to get better individually. We need to play more solo queue and get high ranked. We should aim to be at least around the top 10 ranked players, each of us. In my eyes, it's important to invest time in solo queue.

Considering GX started the split in 10th place and struggled after the jungler change, but made a strong run to playoffs, do you still feel positive about how the season ended despite the loss to Fnatic?
Jun: Making playoffs was a positive, but that’s the extent of the positives to take in my eyes. We weren’t good enough and we lost.
Do you have any big regrets from this split?
Jun: I don’t really think I have regrets.
Is there one thing from this split you’re proud of and will look back on positively?
Jun: I’m very proud of our showing in Spain. We were really good in front of Madrid.
This is your second year in the LEC—one with FNC, one with GX. How do you rank yourself among the other supports today?
Jun: I need to improve. I can’t rank myself like this. I don’t deserve to be up there right now.
Is there anything you want to say to fans to close the interview?
Jun: Thank you for cheering for us. We’ll keep improving."
