Kajetan "
kaajak" Haremski is expected to continue playing for
Fnatic in 2028, according to sources close to
Sheep Esports. The Polish player and the English club have agreed to extend his contract for at least one more year. According to the Global Contract Database, he will be the first player to sign for next year, with the rest of the roster’s contracts all expiring in 2026.
Arriving ahead of the 2025 season, the Fnatic and
kaajak story began on a high note, with a victory at the Riot Games ONE PRO INVITATIONAL in December 2024, following wins over Zeta Division and DetonatioN FocusMe. In his first matches in Berlin, however, the Kickoff did not go as planned, with a Top 5-6 finish, far from the qualifying spots for Masters Bangkok, the first international event of 2025.
A nearly perfect 2025
The team corrected course perfectly during Stage 1, securing its first VCT EMEA title and, on top of that, qualifying for Masters Toronto. In Canada, Fnatic was upset in the first round of the playoffs by Gen.G Esports, dropping immediately into the lower bracket. Led by their iconic captain Jake "Boaster" Howlett, the team launched a remarkable lower-bracket run, defeating Rex Regum Qeon, Sentinels, G2 Esports, and Wolves Esports, reaching the grand final. In this decisive match, Paper Rex ultimately triumphed 3-1, claiming their first international title.
In Stage 2, the English organization had a scare, finishing Top 5-6, but their strong result in Toronto secured them a spot at
VALORANT Champions Paris. Fnatic topped their group after victories over RRQ and MiBR, then began the playoffs with a win over DRX. FNC even took revenge on PRX in the next round, winning 2-1. In the winner bracket final, NRG Esports halted kaajak and his teammates’ momentum, securing a 2-0 win to reach the grand final. In the lower bracket, Fnatic defeated DRX to set up a rematch with NRG in the grand final. In this last best-of-five, the English organization fell short again, losing their second final of the season 2-3.
In 2026, Fnatic was once again upset at the Kickoff and failed to reach the first Masters of the year for the second time. After losing their opening match of the season to BBL Esports, FNC strung together three wins to reach the middle bracket final. Gentle Mates defeated the English club to qualify for Santiago, sending Fnatic to the lower bracket for a last-chance match. There, they faced Team Liquid but were unable to make an impact, losing 3-0.
