The duo previously won IEM Dallas 2023 together with ENCE
G2 Esports' ongoing Counter Strike 2 roster restructuring continues to take shape. Following the departure of its star player Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov to Team Falcons in April, the organization brought in Aleksander "hades" Miśkiewicz on a temporary loan basis. According to Sheep Esports sources, hades is expected to remain with the team through the Austin Major (June 2–22), after which he will be replaced by Álvaro "SunPayus" Garcia, who has reportedly reached a verbal agreement with the club. The Spanish AWPer had recently played under the Falcons banner before leaving the Saudi organization in January to join HEROIC.
The deal is pending Valve and Blast confirmation.
SunPayus, however, will not be making the move alone. Still per sources, Heroic’s current Head Coach, Eetu "sAw" Saha, has also reached a verbal agreement with the German organization to join the team following the Major. The two have a well-established rapport, having previously worked together before their stint with HEROIC. Most notably, during their time with ENCE, they secured the only S-Tier title of their respective careers at IEM Dallas 2023. That successful run also saw them reach the grand finals of IEM Cologne and Gamers8, as well as the semifinals of ESL Pro League Season 18.
Potential Matchups Before the Transfer
Since reuniting at Heroic, the pair has not replicated their prior success in top-tier tournaments. Nonetheless, the team has qualified for the upcoming Major without major difficulty and recently claimed two lower-profile titles, largely thanks to SunPayus' good performances: the CCT Season 2 Global Finals and the MESA Nomadic Masters Spring 2025. G2, for its part, has not returned to competition since its heavy 0–3 defeat at the hands of Falcons in the grand final of PGL Bucharest on April 13 — a match that marked m0NESY’s final appearance before switching sides.
As such, hades has yet to debut in G2 colours. The Polish AWPer is expected to play his first official match for the team at the PGL Astana, kicking off on May 10. G2 will then head to IEM Dallas, where they may face off against SunPayus and sAw — still representing Heroic at that stage. The two teams could also meet once more during the Austin Major, setting the stage for a symbolic handover just before the official transition.
