Chovy suffered his first back-to-back best-of series losses in the LCK since joining Gen.G

Things are far from ideal for in this year's League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK). For the first time since joining the organization, star midlaner Jeong "" Ji-hoon has suffered back-to-back LCK best-of series defeats, losing to T1 and Dplus KIA. It also marks Gen.G's first losing streak in nearly five years.

Since joining Gen.G in 2022, Chovy has completely dominated the Korean league, winning five LCK titles without ever suffering back-to-back series defeats. As for Gen.G, the last time the organization lost consecutive best-of series dates back to August 2021. Ironically, those defeats also came against the same two opponents: T1 and DWG KIA.

The statistic speaks for itself and highlights just how dominant Chovy and Gen.G have been in the LCK over the past few years. The fact that a losing streak of just two best-of series is even worth mentioning says everything about a team built around one of the greatest midlaners in League of Legends history, a team that simply isn't used to losing.

Last Wednesday, however, Gen.G bounced back by defeating , ending the losing streak. Had it stretched to three consecutive defeats, it would have marked the organization's first three-match losing streak since August 2019, when they fell to Griffin, Afreeca Freecs, and DAMWON Gaming.

Gen.G currently sit fourth in the LCK Legend Group regular season with a 15-6 record, trailing T1, HLE, and KT Rolster. It's a stark contrast to last year's regular seasons, when they finished Spring with a perfect 18-0 record and ended Summer at 29-1. The difference is just as striking compared to 2024, when they posted identical 17-1 records in both Spring and Summer.

It is worth noting that this is not the first time Chovy and Gen.G have suffered back-to-back defeats across all competitions. Earlier this year, in March, the Tigers were swept by at the First Stand Semifinals before returning to the LCK for the start of Rounds 1-2, where they opened the split with a loss to KT.

The same thing happened in February 2025, when Gen.G fell to T1 on the final day of the LCK Cup before losing to HLE in the opening round of the playoffs. Before that, the previous instance came at the end of 2022, when Gen.G were defeated by DRX at the World Championship. They then opened the 2023 regular season in January with another loss to T1.
