"I hope T1 can take down Gen.G. It would mean one less challenging team in next round’s draw. We'll have to be very well-prepared for next week"
Despite suffering setbacks at the hands of Anyone's Legend, CTBC Flying Oyster stand proudly with a cumulative score of 2-1 heading into the second week of the Worlds 2025 Swiss Stage. Kings of the League of Legends Championship Pacific (LCP), the Taiwanese representatives now await their next foe, hoping to make history and secure a spot in the bracket stage. In an exclusive interview, jungler Yu "JunJia" Chun-Chia sat down with Sheep Esports to discuss his recent loss, the lessons he took away, who he’d like to face next, and his overarching goals.
How are you feeling after the loss? What do you think was missing in this match?
Yu "JunJia" Chun-Chia: “Our mid-to-late game was worse than our opponent’s. How we approached teamfights and managed resources during that stage wasn’t as good as theirs. For example, in the third game, we had a 3k gold lead, but we still lost because we didn’t handle these aspects properly.
What are you taking from this match to help you win the next one?
JunJia: From my perspective, I’ve learned two important things: how to be in the right position during teamfights, and how to play them once they actually start.
Did you get to talk with your former EDG teammates, Li "Flandre" Xuanjun and Wang "Hope" Jie, before or after the match?
JunJia: After we played the first game, during the pause, we met and had a talk. Flandre said, “Wow, you guys performed so great oh my god,” but at the end of the day, they took the win.
Do you feel your goal of reaching the quarterfinals is within reach, and what would your goal be afterward?
JunJia: We are 2-1 right now, but I feel like all the teams who could end up with that record are very strong. We have to be very well-prepared for our matchups against these teams. If we can reach the quarterfinals, then we’ll think about how to perform in the best-of-five. But the most important thing is to focus on right now and prepare for the 2-1 teams before next week. We definitely want to surpass the Flash Wolves’ legacy and bring honor to the LCP.
Since you cannot rematch against T1, which teams would you like to face—or avoid—in the next round?
JunJia: I hope T1 can take down Gen.G. It would mean one less challenging team in next round’s draw.
I’ve seen videos of you trying to tickle Tsai "HongQ" Ming-Hong and mess with him. Do you think he deserves the bullying?
JunJia: We just like to play with him. He feels like our little brother.
Ling "Kaiwing" Kai Wing will celebrate his birthday on the 27th. Do you have anything planned ahead of that?
JunJia: We will make it to the bracket stage for Kaiwing and give him our best wishes this year, along with some good memories.
Any words for your fans?
JunJia: I feel very sorry for letting you all down. We will definitely review this match and try to perform much better in the next match-ups.”
