Closed beta is live
The closed beta of 2XKO, Riot Games’ brand-new fighting game, officially launched today, September 9, 2025. Set in the universe of League of Legends and Runeterra, the title allows players to battle it out while embodying some of the franchise’s most iconic champions, such as Jinx, Blitzcrank, and Darius. Riot has not yet announced an official end date for the beta, leaving fans hopeful that the game will continue to evolve and remain accessible in this form right up until its full release, currently expected toward the end of the year.
Details about the beta
For this beta phase, players who already took part in earlier testing sessions are given priority access and will automatically receive a key. For everyone else, entry requires either submitting a request on Riot Games’ official website or receiving an invitation from a friend. Each participant has the opportunity to invite up to three additional players, which should help the community grow quickly. At launch, only PC players will be able to experience the game, while PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series access is planned for a later stage.
Five different stages are available in this beta, all inspired by locations from League of Legends lore, which adds another layer of immersion for long-time fans. Beyond the in-game content itself, the esport scene around the title is set to take off quickly, as a presence has already been confirmed at the Ultimate Fighting Arena 2025 (UFA) in Paris (France), one of the most prestigious fighting game tournaments. Meanwhile, the FGC community is already buzzing with activity, with fans on X and other social media platforms organizing grassroots tournaments to kickstart the game’s competitive scene.
Although Riot Games has confirmed that ten champions will be available at launch, nine of them can already be played in this beta. If you want to learn more about each of them, a full article is available that breaks down their abilities and unique characteristics.
