"Oh. Hello, new friend!"
Riot Games officially announced the arrival of Teemo in 2XKO on Monday, September 29, and players will be able to try him out starting October 7. One of the most iconic champions from League of Legends is now confirmed as the tenth playable character in the roster and will be available right from the launch of the early access, which is also scheduled for October 7, 2025. He joins Jinx, Braum, Ahri, Darius, Ekko, Yasuo, Illaoi, Vi, and Blitzcrank, completing the ten-character lineup Riot had initially revealed for the game’s release.
Alongside Teemo, the launch of early access will also mark the beginning of Season 0. The game will be available for free on PC without requiring an access code, a significant change compared to the current beta. This first version will include a Battle Pass, cosmetic content, a full progression system, as well as a training mode called Combo Trials, allowing players to practice each character’s combos across multiple difficulty levels. Importantly, all content unlocked and progress made during this phase will carry over into the official release.
22 tournaments
On the competitive side, Riot introduced First Impact, an initiative designed to establish the foundation of 2XKO’s esports ecosystem. By the end of the year, nearly 22 tournaments across North America, Europe, and Asia will receive direct financial support. Winning duos will earn a 2,500-dollar prize along with an exclusive in-game title, Local Legend. The very first Riot-backed tournament has already been confirmed: it will be the debut edition of EVO France, held in Nice from October 10 to 12.
